Interface Menu (Interface)

Use the Interface menu to run the model, import and export data, restore devices, add and remove pages, access the Data Manager, and replace the model in use.

Each command on the Model menu is briefly described below.

Run

Use this command to run the model. This command is grayed if the model isn't valid. It's the same as clicking on the button in the Run toolbar. For more information, see Running Models.

Run Sensitivity

Use this command to perform a sensitivity run on the model. This command is available if you have a valid model and have set up the sensitivity parameters for it. It's the same as clicking on the S-Run button in the Run toolbar. For more information, see Performing Sensitivity Analysis.

Data Manager

Use this command to open the Data Manager. For more information, see Managing Model Runs.

Equation Viewer

Use this command to view the model equations. For more information, see Equation Viewer.

Open Results Panel

Use this command to view variable behavior. For more information, see Results Panel.

Import Data

Use this command to set up and manage import links between Excel worksheets or .CSV files and your model. Using this, you can import data into a model's stocks, constants, and graphical functions. For more information, see Setting Up Import Links.

Export Data

Use this command to set up and manage export links between a model and Excel worksheets or .CSV files. Using this, you can export data from your model. You can choose to export all model results, or those specified in a table in the model. For more information, see Setting Up Export Links.

Present

Use this command to enter presentation mode. You can select either Windows or Full Screen from the dropdown menu that appears. You can also enter presentation mode from the toolbar at the top by clicking on the Presentation mode tool . Once you're in presentation mode, use the Esc key to exit; there won't be any toolbars or menus visible.

Add Story

Use this command to add a story. After selecting it, you'll be prompted for a story name and can start editing the story.

Remove Selected Page

This command deletes the page you're working on, along with all of its contents.

Go to Interface

This takes you back to the main set of interface pages. It's only available if you're editing a story.

Replace Model

This command replaces the model that's in use without making any changes to the interface you're editing. This is very useful when the model and interface development work are proceeding in parallel, as it allows you to seamlessly update to a newer version of the model. Be sure that any variable changes are synchronized, so you don't need to reconnect any input or output objects.

Note: When you replace the model, if any of the Model View objects had graphs, tables, graphics frames, or numeric outputs visible, they'll no longer be visible. It's better to place such objects in a template, in order to maintain control over their location and appearance.

Restore

Use the commands on the Restore submenu to reset the status of inputs and outputs.
