Note: This document applies to upgrading isee NetSim Server version 1.0, 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 to version 1.1
1.) Do not uninstall isee NetSim Server until you make a backup of the web directory!
2.) Make a backup of the existing web directory by copying the web directory to a temporary location. (For example, copy it to C:\NetSim Backup)

2a) Find the Virtual Directory or Website in IIS Manager, right-click and select "Properties"

2b) The path to the web directory is listed under "Local Path"

2c) Open Windows Explorer, browse to the path found in the previous step, right-click and copy the web directory

2d) Create a directory to store the backup, then right-click and paste the web directory into the backup directory
3.) Now that the current NetSim web directory has been backed up, uninstall isee NetSim Server via Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Press the "Remove" button under isee NetSim Server 1.0.X in the Add or Remove Programs dialog
4.) Run the isee NetSim Server 1.1 installer. If you want the isee NetSim Server URL to remain the same as before, choose the existing website/virtual directory where you had the previous version installed when prompted by the installer.
5.) When the installer is complete, open
C:\Program Files\isee systems\isee NetSim Server 1.1 \tools and launch "Upgrade Utility.exe".

Launch "Upgrade Utility.exe" in the "tools" directory.
6.) Select the old and new server installation directories. The "old server" path is where you backed up the web directory in step 2. To find the exact path of the "new server", open IIS Manager, and right-click on the NetSim Server virtual directory and choose "Properties". The path can be found in the text box labeled "Local Path" on the "Virtual Directory" or "Home Directory" tab.

After selecting the backup directory and new server directory, press "Upgrade"
7.) When both paths have been entered, click on Upgrade. Please be patient while the published models and users are copied to the new Server installation. The application will inform you when the process is complete.
You should now be able to access any previously published
iThink or STELLA models as well as publish new models. The existing user accounts from isee NetSim Server have been preserved and migrated to version 1.1.

Verify the authors and models were upgraded to the new version of isee NetSim Server by logging in and viewing published models
