Overview
Understanding the Economic Crisis is a 55-minute video presentation illustrating how the iThink and STELLA software can be used to better understand the recent global economic meltdown.
Dynamic modeling expert, Mark Paich, shows how the Systems Thinking methodology can lead to insights about complex issues by following a rich process of looking at behavior, laying out the stock/flow structure, closing feedback loops, connecting structure to behavior and investigating policy.
Mark begins his presentation with the story of how an individual responds to an economic downturn. He then expands upon the individual model to show the implications of individual behavior on the overall economy.
