Dynamic Dashboards: Practical Tools for Improving Performance & Communicating Strategy
Getting a diverse set of stakeholders engaged in a strategic initiative can be challenging. Whether your objective is to improve your business or to create a sustainable community... How do you communicate what’s important and what can be done? How do you enroll employees in implementing improvements?
This two-session recorded web seminar series will demonstrate how Systems Thinking and the iThink and STELLA software can be used to engage your stakeholders (e.g. staff, customers, suppliers and community members) to generate quantum improvements in performance!
Overview
Dynamic Dashboards: Practical Tools for Improving Performance & Communicating Strategy will help you engage stakeholders in your strategy. Using the tools and concepts of Systems Thinking, course instructor Chris Soderquist demonstrates how to create an online dashboard that communicates what's important. Once you’ve developed your dashboard, you can take the next step to create a “community” learning tool. Using the Systems Thinking methodology, you can identify leading indicators that serve as “early warning” signals when your strategy is off course. Learn what you need to learn to achieve your mission. Each recorded session includes a 50-55 minute presentation followed by questions and answers. Online access to session recordings, sample STELLA/iThink models, and handouts will cement learning.
Course Syllabus
Session 1: Creating Your First Dashboard
Learn how to link Excel, iThink/STELLA, and isee Netsim to create your own online dashboards. Using pre-built templates as your guide, you'll construct your own customized dashboard. Begin with data that has already been collected and an established scorecard, then create an iThink or STELLA version. Discover how Systems Thinking can add significant value to an effort already under way.
Session 2: Using Systems Thinking to Build Better Dashboards
Use an existing iThink or STELLA model to create your dashboard. Discover how this approach in the long run can be more efficient at creating a sustainable advantage!
