Simulation Log

The simulation log is used to log events that occur during a simulation, and also record things that happen when you first open a model. It can be opened from the Model Menu or by clicking on the button in the Run Toolbar (only shown when the log has content).

The Simulation Log is a dockable panel.

To open the simulation log, select Open Simulation Log from the Windows menu. It will also be shown automatically when you open a model if any errors occurred during opening.

Clear Log will clear all entries in the current log.

The entries in the log come from two sources.

• Reading messages show up during the opening of a model. They include:
  • Variables being renamed to prevent conflict with internal names or naming convention.
  • Models being converted from previous file formats.
  • Variables having controlled values overriding their equation.
• Simulation messages show up during a simulation. They include:
  • Variables going above or below their specified ranges.
  • Invalid stock initializations.
  • Graphicals going above or below their input ranges.
