Stella Server

isee systems, inc. maintains the isee Exchange as a location to edit models and publish and share interfaces developed using Stella. There are a number of different capabilities available on the exchange including Multiplayer Games, Authentication, and Data Collection.

The software that we use to host the exchange is also available as a solution that you can host yourself on your internal servers behind a firewall. This comes in two configurations, Stella Publisher works with client side computation while Stella Server works with both client side and server side computation.

Stella Publisher

Stella Publishers is a server product that allows you to publish interfaces that use client side computation as specified in the Publishing Options dialog. It supports Data Collection in the same way the isee Exchange does. Authentication can be configured the same with as the isee Exchange or it can be set up to use OAUTH so that users do not need to create a separate account to publish to. Access can be controlled by network configuration and also controlled for individual published interfaces.

From the user's perspective publication works the same as publishing to the isee Exchange, but there is an additional option to publish to a custom location. This custom location is typically on an internal network.

Stella Publisher runs on Linux.

Stella Server

Stella Server includes Stella Publisher and also supports server side computation, database access for import and export, and multiplayer games. It is configured using one server to provide the publishing capability and one or more to provide the computation capability. The servers are coordinated through a database connection that provides information about the availability of the computational servers.
