Team Leadership Simulation

Develop better team leadership and project scheduling skills through risk-free experiential learning. Crew is a Team Management Business Game that requires your team to lead a smaller operational team. Acting collectively in the leader position, teams must schedule their simulated team members to appropriate work projects while dealing with personal, skill sets, attitudinal, and team issues that arise. This is a great game for managers of any experience level.

The Challenge

Your team must successfully complete projects over a four-week period while maintaining individual and team morale. Individuals’ skills set must be taken into account as work assigned to team members that is too tedious or too difficult for their skill set will lower morale and result in unfinished work . Your team must assign the right people to the right projects to be successful. New information and issues will arise weekly.

  • Simulation runs for four weeks in one-week rounds. Track your results each week on the stats page and review learning at the end of each round.

Team Member Interactions
  • Each simulated team member has a profile that offers information about themselves, their level of motivation, skill sets, and your influence on them. This can help you build relationships with them, determine which project to assign to them, and decide your next interaction with them.
  • Optional off-simulation role play with facilitator can offer further information .
Team Leadership 360 Review App
  • In-simulation app allows a team leader to capture and consolidate feedback on their leadership from peers and team members across seven key areas.

Case Study

Crew is an off-the-shelf game led by a facilitator. Crew can be run over either half a day or one full day if you choose to add additional theory and exercises. It also has internet resiliency to avoid loss of simulation information during internet outages. The books A Systematic Guide to High Performing Teams (HPTs) and A Systematic Guide to Project Management may optionally be included to support the underlying theory of the simulation.
